DEA, Partners Report on National Rx Take Back Efforts

The DEA reported that this year’s National Rx Drug Take Back Day on April 30 brought in more than 720,000 pounds of unneeded medications at 5,144 collection sites across the country. Take Back Day aims to prevent prescription medication misuse and reduce overdose deaths by providing no-cost opportunities to dispose of medicines stored in the home that are susceptible to misuse. The next National Rx Drug Take Back Day is scheduled for October 29, 2022.
