On Wednesday, September 11, TCA awarded U.S. Rep. Annie Kuster of New Hampshire the Charlie Devlin Award for Excellence for her exemplary efforts in Congress to advance the substance use disorder (SUD) treatment field.
Rep. Kuster has represented New Hampshire in Congress since 2013 and is the founder and Co-chair of the Bipartisan Addiction and Mental Health Task Force. During her time in Congress, Rep. Kuster has worked across the aisle to address demand for drugs and alcohol in America while advancing evidence-based approaches to bring the opioid epidemic to a close.

Charlie Devlin, a pioneer in the SUD treatment field and former President of TCA, passed away in January 2017. The Charlie Devlin Award for Excellence was established to honor Devlin’s legacy and has been awarded annually to a deserving member of Congress for his/her contributions to the SUD treatment field.
